We're all huge fans of Quintron and Miss Pussycat's singular form of organ-driven swamp jams and amazing pre-concert puppet shows, so asking them if they wanted to do something for VBS was kind of intimidating, like how TV shows act like asking a girl out is supposed to be. Not only did they say yes though, the idea they came up with seemed too good to ever pull off. But then they did, and somehow we were even more intimidated than before.Trixie & the Treetrunks is pretty much your basic puppet telenovela revolving around the trials and tribulations of a band of young down-and-out forest creatures who are recruited by a magical, helium-voiced tree to send subliminal messages to the world through their music. It's also about the druggy rock scene at the center of the Earth, the challenge of a finding a good drummer, and the joys of making out. You know, standard puppet business. We chatted briefly with Miss Pussycat about her inspiration for this felt pile of genius.
